Sunshine lovers, fervent admirers of big-bright things, rule breakers, finally you’ve been heard. Our excuse to stay away from monochrome is here. Enter COLOUR BLOCKING.

Donning in outrageous amounts of colour is what this trend is all about. Its simple, all you have to do is bring back to life that colour obsessed artist in you experiment, take risks, remind yourself about the fun that lies in breaking the rules and voila, off you go!

Ria Kanal, our dear friend and talented stylist, shows us how to colour block while adding that instant and uplifting pop.

Here's how Ria color blocks:-

·Work with complimentary colours like red, tan and blue
·Bright colours like orange and green can be teamed up with safari colored pallazo pants.
·Neon and pop colours from the runways of Prada, Jill Sander, Gucci and Burberry could be imitated for that instant zing.
·To play down this look minimal or subtle colors like brown bottoms instead of yellow can be incorporated.
·Denims lovers? Wear knee length denim skirts with bright yellow/neon tank tops. To add additional oomph throw on a bold blazer, pair of cool summer wedges and you are ready to go.
·The red statement blazer must not be forgotten. This diverse piece can be teamed up with classic blue denim jeggings and dark colored shirts.
·Accessorizing!! Our favorite part of dressing up. A touch of gold bijoux with hair tucked into a ballerina bun is what you need to transform this look from funky, edgy to chic and classic. Indian necklaces bearing colorful stones exude charisma to this off the runway look.

Ria has taken inspiration mainly from Gucci S/S 2011 where the silhouettes are fitted and stylish and has styled the above looks.

Ria’s style is classic yet a little experimental here. She’s unafraid to wear something that's out of the box and loves experimenting with colours, styles and trends.
