Love Story

Like love, fashion knows no language. Handful are the sartorial numbers that possess the uncanny ability of telling a story, for there are only a few that have travelled through the pages of history and absorbed, morphed and reinvented themselves without losing the crux of their composition.

My adulation for the “Little Black Dress” transcends its badass sex appeal, for it transports me to the era of an orphan girl who reinvented fashion, presenting to the world something so simple and effortless. It was the era when women broke free from asphyxiated corsets, larger than life gowns and the clutches of third party aid while dressing. Enter Coco Chanel, the game changer of the 20th century, a woman who’s futuristic vision carved the path de la mode.

A luscious, lacquered “red” sole stood as a time-tested allegory of luxury. Haven’t staggering amounts of hard earned money been guiltily spent on coveting the aforementioned, simply by merit of them being of Louboutin craftsmanship?

Yes, it is true; the baffling “red” soul quandary resulted in a green light favoring YSL to continue producing red-soled booties! Want my opinion? I think it sucks! For it makes me question the  authenticity of the term exclusivity in the world of fashion. In this narcissistic world, replete with one designer trying to outdo the other, luxury seems to have definitely lost its true glory. However outrageous, Louboutin established his niche by proclaiming him to be the monarch of the “red” sole empire. Don’t get me wrong, I love YSL, it definitely reins as one of my favorite but seriously you guys, this move was definitely below the belt. For a red sole will signify always a Louboutin creation!

Anyway, I think Iv definitely morphed into a borderline stalker. Obsessively eyeing peoples style and wishing truly to document it here. Like a sequel of sorts to this post here, I present to you Street Style- deux. Enjoy!
