"If the Shoe doesn’t fit, must we change the foot?"
- Shruti Dharwadkar
Over the years my affair with shoes has grown manifold and has blossomed into a full-fledged romance. I find myself yearning for shoes ,shoes and more shoes, and I still can't seem to get enough! Yes, I am self proclaimed addict and it has got everything to do with shoes! When it comes to shoes, I am a curious cat, wanting to know EVERYTHING, where they originated, who was behind the iconic design, the story, the makers, everything.
I was reading about Oxfords, so I thought I’d share it with you. Oxfords also known as ‘Balmorals’, hail from Scotland and Ireland. They were named after the Queens castle in Scotland-Balmoral. This androgynous enclosed shoe has obviously found its way into my wardrobe and is becoming an all time favorite! Traditionally, these were plain and made from leather, often donned as formal shoes. Gotta love technology right, giving it a twist and many more avatars! Oxfords today are not restricted only to formal. Freaks like me even wear them on a dress, don’t make a face, you'll be surprised by the edge it gives you and besides its good to break rules every now and then. F.Y.I we have too many people who play it safe!
